JACT Latin Summer School 2026

Latin Camp brings together over 150 people of all ages, to share in the joy of learning Latin, reading its literature and exploring the magic of the Roman world. We are based in the beautiful British spa-town of Harrogate but we welcome people from all over the world – to date we have welcomed students from over 25 countries on literally every continent except the Antarctic!
We are here for anyone at any level, from complete beginners up to post A-Level standard and everyone in between. From complete beginners to those with A Level experience and beyond, we welcome learners of all backgrounds. We have a lot of school and university students but there is no upper age limit so please do apply no matter what your circumstances. Usually our youngest students are age 15 but we will consider age 14 if they are beginners or have studied Latin for at least three years. Bursaries may be available from Classics for All and the Roman Society.
The classes, grammar clinics and talks are the backbone of what we offer but Latin Camp is so much more. It’s about prepping Latin with new friends in the sun; it’s about sharing the camaraderie of like-minded people in the houses; it’s about staff, students and speakers sharing their learning. It’s about the quiz, the trips, the play, the party, joining a wider community of Classicists. It’s about making friends for life.
